Miami City Ballet Presents: George Balanchine's Nutcracker

Miami City Ballet's unique production of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker® is the most "magnificent, dazzling" way to celebrate the festive season with your loved ones (Broadway World). At a cozy Christmas eve party, a brave little girl called Marie receives a mysterious gift. When the clock strikes twelve, a magic spell awakens and we follow Marie into a dream inhabited by toy soldiers and a defiant Mouse King. With the dashing Nutcracker as our guide, discover a sparkling forest of dancing Snowflakes, befriend the Sugarplum Fairy, whimsical waltzing flowers and a host of colorful characters in the Land of Sweets. As a live orchestra plays Tchaikovsky's iconic melodies, more than 100 dancers bring this fantastical story to life, surrounded by sherbet-hued designs by Cuban-American artists Ruben and the late Isabel Toledo and breathtaking stage effects by Wendall K. Harrington.
