Beach Sweeps are conducted on the second Saturday of every month from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers meet at Charnow Park, located at Garfield Street and A1A, to collect litter and cigarette butts from Hollywood Beach. Please complete the registration form and bring it with you on clean-up day.
Minimum age to volunteer is eight, and an adult must accompany minors.
Volunteers must wear proper cleanup attire. T-shirt and shorts are acceptable. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes -- No flip-flops. Volunteers wearing flip-flops will not be allowed to participate. It is recommended that volunteers wear a hat and sunscreen and bring their own water. It is also a good idea to bring a snack.
Safety and Equipment:
City staff will provide clean-up and safety instructions, trash bags and gloves the day of the event.
Volunteers meet at Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut Street on Hollywood Beach. Carpooling is highly recommended as parking is limited in the Garfield Parking Garage.
